
In collaboration with the Arlington Community Church, located at 1715 Randol Mill Road, TCaware, Teaching Communities to Assist Seniors with Resource Education announces the opening of a Food Pantry to serve the surrounding community.
Thanks in part to local Boy Scout troops and individuals our Food Pantry is overflowing with foods and personal needs items to help those in need. All of the foods are inspected and special attention is paid to expiration dates, dents, recalled items, quality of food and condition of food.

TCaware, Teaching Communities to Assist Seniors with Resource Education is the proud recipient of the Helen Gertrude Sparks Grant in the amount of $9,000 to build the TCaware Senior Hotline.
The TCaware Senior Hotline will serve the state of Texas as a portal for seniors to call and receive referral information ranging from local to statewide public and private services. Our goal is for complete funding to have the TCaware Senior Hotline open 24hrs/7 days a week.

TCaware, Tarrant County Assistance for Seniors and Resource Education is the proud recipient of the Virginia Hulse Grant in the amount of $9,000 to combat the isolation of seniors in Tarrant County.
Our Senior Isolation Initiative Program was developed to fill the unmet needs of Tarrant County seniors age 65 and over in the areas with the highest percentage at or below the poverty line. In most cases seniors are homebound due to limited knowledge of programs and assistance available. It is our intention to reverse this problem with programs and assistance that is specifically designed to meet each clients needs.

TCaware, Tarrant County Assistance for Seniors and Resource Education announces that Walmart Supercenter, Fort Worth, TX has given a grant in the amount of $1,000.
Our clients are in great need of educational programs and assistance to enable them to flourish in and around our community. Programs like Financial Awareness provide seniors with knowledge pertaining to their specific situation. TCaware volunteers conduct seminars to teach seniors basic budgeting up to estate investment strategies.
This grant will help TCaware continue much needed services to a neglected niche in our communities.

TCaware clients have fallen through the cracks of the traditional service organizations. Since most senior citizens have limited or now transportation and or access to information about benefits, TCaware fills the need by home visits and skilled benefits counselors.
This grant will help TCaware continue much needed services to a neglected niche in our communities.

TCaware – Tarrant County Assistance for Widows(ers) and Resource Education announces that due to the ever increasing senior population in Tarrant County and many referrals of non-widow(ers), we are expanding our focus to all seniors in Tarrant County, while incorporating our Widows(ers) Outreach program into the mix. This includes a name change to reflect this. TCaware – Tarrant County Assistance for Seniors and Resource Education.
TCaware - Tarrant County Assistance for Seniors and Resource Education is a 501c3 non-profit organization based on Christian principles. Many seniors are at or below the poverty line. TCaware has stepped up to make those and all other seniors in Tarrant County a priority, through education, empowerment and assistance at this vulnerable time of their lives at no cost.
Our mission is to provide educational
programs and assistance that enrich each client’s emotional, social, intellectual
and physical growth. Programs and assistance such as Financial Awareness, Fraud
Prevention, Nutrition and Health, Personal Safety and Widows(ers) Outreach,
Food Panty, Friendly Visits, Assistance with Public and Private Benefits to
name a few.
Businesses give holiday
gifts that make a difference in the lives of widows and widowers in Tarrant
County, by making a donation to TCaware in honor of employees and clients or
in memoriam of a loved one.
Gifts fund the Senior Isolation Initiative which combats physical and social
isolation that contributes to health problems, depression, substance abuse and
suicide among older adults. By providing outreach and screening of isolated
older adults, development of individual re-engagement plans, transportation
assistance-volunteer and public, home repair and modification, telephone reassurance,
24-hour crisis line, linkage with other resources and other much needed programs.
“During the holiday season it is essential to continue our programs and
the holiday gifts make it possible.” said Susan M. Witts, Executive Director
of TCaware. The holiday season is a time to remember our loved ones both near
and far. Please don’t forget about the elderly that have no one to remember
them at this time of year.

TCaware, Tarrant County Assistance for Widows(ers) and Resource Education announces that Walmart Neighborhood Store, Pantego, TX has given a grant to combat the isolation of seniors in Tarrant County.
This grant will assist in funding our Senior Isolation Initiative. Dedicated staff and volunteers from our community conduct monthly visits to assess personal progress, offering encouragement and resources to make their transition as smooth as possible.
Montly visits indicate isolation, Malnutrition and financial education as our greatest challenge. A growing body of research suggests that physical and social isolation contributes to health problems, despression, substance abuse and suicide among older adults. TCaware incorporates the following services into the isolation initiative.
O Outreach and screening of isolated older adults.
O Development of individual re-engagement plans.
O Transportatino assistance-volunteer and public.
O Shopping assistance.
O Home repair and modification.
O Yardwork/chore services.
O Telephone reassurance and 24-hour crisis line.
O Friendly visiting.
O Food assistance.
O Linkage with other resources.

Tarrant County Assistance for Widows(ers) and Resource Education and Sam Pack’s Five Star Ford partnered July 27th-29th collecting donations to help provide for the needs of widows and widowers in our community that are struggling with emotional, nutritional, educational and financial issues that jeopardize their well being. Terry Rich, General Manager, Five Star Ford, “I know many can benefit from TCaware, I wish everyone could see the tremendous need for this organization and do their part to help.” Many enjoyed free food, prize drawings and the opportunity to support this worthwhile cause.
The organization was founded in 2004 to promote programs and services designed to enhance emotional and social development, as well as nurture intellectual and physical growth. Susan Witts, Executive Director of TCaware, “Isolation, Malnutrition leading to Health Issues and the need for Financial Education is what we discover most through our monthly visits, but we lack the support to help all those in need of assistance. We are grateful to Five Star Ford for their continued support and desire to make a difference in our community.”
